Nursery Weekly Blog - 21/10/2022
We have had an extremely busy week at Nursery! Our text of the week is Little Red Riding Hood. We have used the story to talk about how people might feel e.g. Grandma felt poorly, Little Red Riding Hood was worried and the wolf was hungry. What we could do to help them to feel better? We decided that making soup for Grandma might make her feel better!
Each morning the children have all helped to make vegetable soup. We have looked at, smelt and sorted the vegetables and herbs. The children helped to peel and chop the vegetables and everyone has had the chance to try our delicious soup. We have also been lucky enough to be given some pepper plants to take care of. We are very excited to watch these grow and hopefully be able to try some tasty home-grown peppers for snack time.
We have been on a nature walk around the school to find items for our “Autumn Table Display” we gathered acorns, sticks, leaves and bark and hope that some mini beasts might make themselves a cosy home.
The children used a range of junk modelling materials and masking tape to create some of their own ideas to recreate the story of Little Red Riding Hood. We have had some amazing creations and lots of children making themselves a home in the giant boxes!
As part of a whole school RE project, we have created a colourful poster based on the theme “Creation”. We are looking forward to seeing our contribution as part of the whole display.
We have managed to find the time for dough disco, shaving foam patterns, small adventure playground fun and even school photos.
We wish everyone a happy half term and look forward to seeing you all again soon.
